Albany MyCAA Benefits
The Department of Defense (DoD) provides financial assistance to military spouses to pay for certifications and education in high-growth, high-demand portable fields at no cost through the MyCAA program.
For military spouses who are interested in pursuing such careers, this is a FREE benefit. It is a proven fact that the more training and education job seekers have, the more likely they will be hired into better jobs at higher salaries.

The DoD will provide $4,000 in financial assistance to military spouses of Active Duty and activated Guard and Reserve service members through Career Advancement Accounts. This program is administered by Military OneSource. New Horizons is an approved MyCAA school by Military OneSource; all of our spouse programs are 100% covered by MyCAA funds.

- Training
Eligible military spouses are now able to receive up to $4,000 of MyCAA Financial Assistance (FA) that can help them pursue education, training, licenses, certificates, and degrees leading to employment in Portable Career fields. Please see the MyCAA Fact Sheet which provides basic information about the MyCAA program and military spouse eligibility. This Fact Sheet also provides points of contact for who can help spouses, schools and participating organizations.
- Job Preparation
The schedules and locations of Military Spouses are always changing. Training in Portable Career fields, fields that are in high-demand and not restricted to location or time, prepares you to enter the workforce when you choose.
- Job Placement
New Horizons Albany is working closely with local partners who are involved with Job Placement and developing networks of military-friendly employers who are looking to hire military spouses into good paying positions.
